    Default battery life really bad?
hey i jailbroke my 3g iphone 2.0 last night

and since then my battery life has been horriable lasted like 4h with minimal usage
since no good apps have come out on cydia as of yet.
i was wondering if i restore to its original firmware/software

will the battery life go back to normal?

Maybe you should post this in the other 20 threads about battery life of the 3g iPhones

Did you install OpenSSH? If so it is running constantly in the background and killing your battery.

so how can we turn openSSH off without unintalling it??? And how to turn it back on?

there was a program called Services that did it on the 2g models/ FW 1.1.X, maybe you can wait for it to get ported over to FW 2.0?

The cydia team says shh isn't killing the batt. So maybe it's something else.

When your not using the 3g for data, turn it off so for calls you will not be using 3g. Ive seen no difference between 3g and non-3g calls with the exception of the battery life.

Go to Settings > General > Network. When you need 3g for data then turn it back on. Im sure when boss prefs or services gets ported to 2.0 it will be even easier to swap between the two, but you'll see a difference and 3g calling is not worth the power drain.
