I've installed apps in the past using but even after they were uninstalled, I still find traces of them around in sub directories and what not via ssh.

I restored my iPhone 1.1.4 before using iTunes, but upon restoring from backup, I can see see those files and sub-directories (after I jb and unlock again).

I found it peculiar that high scores from games were retained as well upon restore. I'm not sure if iTunes put them back from the backup, OR because the score files are probably stored in a different sub directory from the app itself.

After you wipe your phone, dont restore it with the last backup. Set it up as a new iphone.
