Default External GPS support now SDK available
I have a 1.1.4 jailbroken, unlocked iphone on Orange.

With the release of the software development kits, is it yet possible to pair my GlobalSat bluetooth GPS device with my iPhone as I can use Google Maps for Satelite navigation.

    Thanks
    Mark

I haven't heard of anything that currently pairs a GPS device with a 1G phone...

    Sorry. Keep looking around.

I believe the bluetooth is only currently functioning for headset purposes. I'm not sure what the SDK says about it, but judging from their stance on other issues it's probably not gonna fly (especially because of GPS) in the 3g.
    Cut and paste your but.

There is an application for external GPS support on the first gen iphone. It DOES require a jailbreak, and I believe it uses a special cable, not bluetooth, to connect to the GPS reciever. Its called hike.app; follow the link.
