Thread: Regarding Compatibilty.... Help?

    Thumbs down Regarding Compatibilty.... Help?
I'm planning on buying a 3G iPhone, and i have a few questions...

-Is there a different method to downgrade a 3g as opposed to a 1g or 2g?
-Will the jailbroken iPhone function the same as a regular iphone, meaning... will i lose any features when i downgrade?
-Does apple automatically update your firmware, so is everyone is stuck in the same boat when a new firmware is released?

Any Help is greatly appreciated, I'm currently a psp hacker and would really like to see what the 3g iphone can do.

Also, if anyone could refer me to some helpful topics, I'd greatly appreciate it. I've already done some browsing, but some direction would be nice.

doerrfan pretty much sums it up for you.

jailbroken phones are way better than stock and you control the updates on the phone.
it functions a whole lot better if you add the right apps=]

    Thanks to both of you,

-I just wondering about the 3g, i was treating it as a different phone. I thought there would be a different technique to hack it, and certain homebrew apps wouldn't be compatible.
-hasn't the 3G been hacked? I've also heard that if you don't update your firmware you'll lose phone service.
