Try adding something and see what discount your cart shows (you can always empty it before committing)

do you have to confirm your school email address? I graduated awhile back but still have the email but no access to it. Does AT&T send you an email to confirm it?

    Yes and yes.

Some alumni associations supply their alumns with free email forwarding accounts of the nature alumni.schoolname.edu

Apparently it's the schoolname.edu part that triggers the discount

But yes, you have to activate/confirm through the link they'll send that address.

Also apply for a Citi AT&T credit card for another 10% off here and pay the bill using it.
    10% for a year, then 5%.

So now your looking at 25% off or more
This site has a bit different conditions for the 10% -- you have to match it with non-ATT purchases:

    Code:
Use your AT&T Universal Card for your eligible AT&T spending*
such as your AT&T Digital TV, Internet and home phone—& save up to 10% on eligible purchases for the first 12 months, plus 5% thereafter.1
      	• If your non-AT&T purchases made to your AT&T Universal Card are less than your AT&T purchases , the savings will be offered on the AT&T purchases only to the extent they match your non-AT&T purchases.
