Then I guess you won't be getting an iPhone 3G.

BTW, that 1.4 Mbit/sec speed is the ideal, not what you're likely to get, even though AT&T has announced plans to increase the speed of their 3G network greatly by 2009.

Take it for what it's worth.

Personally, I'd love to get 1.4 Mbit/sec on my iPhone 3G.

Yeah -- once the advertised speed gets up to around 4.0 Mbit/sec, then we might see realistic 1.4 speeds...

well technically the chipset the new iPhone has is capable of 7.2Mbps so its just a matter of the network. At&t does keep saying theyll have 7.8(I think) by the end of the year so no worries. ANything thats faster than EDGE is good enough for me

1.4 Mbits is plenty enough for browsing on an iphone. Even 512kb is plenty for a mobile device

Lol are you honestly complaining about 1.4MB/s speed? Dude, It's a cell phone! Thats great speed for a mobile device. What the hell are you planning on doing on the phone that needs a super fast speed?

in Denmark we have a 3G internet on 7.2 Mbit/s, and the new HTC Diamond have a speed on 7.2 Mbit/s. Then, why is the iPhone so slow compared to the new HTC Diamond.

And the future is more and more Mobile TV, that not much Mobile TV you get with a speed on 1.4 Mbit/s, and the iPhone screen have a nice screen size.

The 1.4Mbit limit only applies to AT+T anyway
