It ain't worth the outrageous costs of a 2 year mandatory activation to me. I don't care about 3G! I don't use wifi that much on mine now, I on purpose, disabled EDGE,I got all the apps I need, enough room for plenty of music and media, it runs on 1.1.4 like a well oiled machine and I haven't had a single problem with it since I jailbroke it right out of the box with iLibery+ !
3G? Nah! They can keep it. I can wait til I can get one without a contract! If I ever do want one.

I sold my iPhone with in 4 hours of the announcement of the new iPhone 3g for $570AU

That would mean I will have sold my 1st gen iPhone and upgraded to the iPhone 3g and will have $150 or so left over (from selling my 1st gen). Really depends how much they are down here in Australia.

I think I'll keep my original iPhone 8GB, but also pick up a 16GB model around launch day...
