Video confrencing has me sold! What feature makes you want a 3G iPhone??

  3. #3
Inline content in Safari, such as Flash and Quicktime movies because i want the FULL internet on the phone combined with the 3g speeds.

These aren't features of 2.0. These are all the patented features they threw on the iPhone 1.0 patent. All this shows is that they have those features in mind. Second paragraphs FFS:

"items that could be taken as a checklist for improvements to look for in the 3G model. Among them:"

    Wow. This has exited me!
I so hope this is real or man and I going to be disappointed. But I don't think anyone would sit and write out a 371-page patent just a hoax... Yet again, you never know...

This should be in the news section

You wouldn't be able to use it on the first gen iPhone. The speeds wont allow it so a camera was never included.

The new 3G iPhone is most likely going to includes a camera on the front.

What do you mean redcard? by 2.0 isn't it talking about firmware, thus referring to the new firmware for the first gen iPhone, not the new 3G iPhone.

The patent is written for the new iPhone, not the firmware, so the name is a bit miss-leading. But the same firmware for the new 3G iPhone is being released for the first gen iPhone...

So the same features will be included, but not necessarily usable...

I really don't care much about 3G because I'm with T-Mobile and I can't get with AT&T as my credit is terrible so 3G is useless for me. I'm pretty much happy with EDGE and WiFi so no worries. I do like other features though. But most of them we already have them in installer

As long as the new firmware has MMS I'm sticking with my firstgen. Support for more email accounts would be nice, I'd love to have Hotmail on my iPhone As for 3G, I never use EDGE anyway so it's pointless.

This pattern is from the first iPhone. Also, regarding the 2.0 firmware, both iPhone (EDGE and 3G) versions will use the same software. The same way the touch uses essentially the same firmware as the iPhone, the software will be able to tell which hardware your running and have the appropriate software (you don't see a phone app on the touch, do you?), If there is a camera on the front on the new phone and video conferencing, the OS will be able to tell.
