Default Weird Grey/white Box in the Edge/Wifi signal
    [Solved]

I recently unlocked my iPhone with iLiberty and everything went alright, but when I switched sim cards a little white box appeared where the edge or wifi signal box is usually located. I have (since that moment) tried to get rid of it with little to no success). Dont get me wrong, i mean, wifi still works. My problem here is that it appears when im not connected to wifi. and is just a small-internal cosmetic problem that my iPhone has. I have attached some screen caps of what is going on. Please help? Anyone knows how to get rid of the box?

Im sorry if this is a dupe or the solution for this problem is already available, i did some research in the forum but solutions seem to be mixed. Some say that a restore will do while others say it doesnt...... thanks.

Here is a pic of my iPhone with wifi off (check out the little withe box at the top left corner):

And here is another pic of my iPhone with Wifi on:

The edge logo (the box) will come up when you're not connected to wifi, all the time. If you're in an edge area, the box will have an E in it, if you're not in an edge area, the E will not be in it. You are not in an edge area.

Oh that means that my current Sim card is edge enabled?

So this is all normal huh?

If you didnt subscribe to an EDGE plan with your network, you can't use true EDGE. But the phone will still detect EDGE enabled areas. It's normal.

The "E" means your using EDGE, but if the cell towers in your area don't support EDGE or your service doesn't use EDGE, the phone switches to GPRS. But as all service that the iPhone supports, use EDGE, Apple didn't make an icon for GPRS.
I have made an icon for this to replace the white box, so that it doesn't look so tacky. You put these files in: "/System/Libary/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/" and the white box will display as a "G" instead.

    Hope you like them. :D

Lol I took the liberty to take them for a try myself. I usually get edge, like 99% of the time, but sometimes I'm out of the area and I get that damn GPRS.
