why can't you just check "about" in general settings?

  5. #4
Cause it doesn't tell you how much room you have left for apps

    1. Don't threadjack.
    2. Search. No one is going to personally write you a step by step guide.

Try doing df -h which should show it in a human readable format with MB's

When I install anything in Installer now I get a pop-up window that says I am running out of space and to delete photos or videos. I have plenty of space and not that many apps. What's going on? Any ideas from the brain trust here?

You are running out of space to put your third party apps. Check out this Guide to help you move your apps and free up space

Because that includes the O/S its like 190 MB i believe...

Yeah, the OS takes up a bit of space. I've successfully used the whole "move the Applications directory to the Media partition and make a symbolic link with ln" trick.

It saved a fair bit of space, and now I can install as many apps as I want

wheres does it say in installer? :S

Thanks jjgsxr883 that was helpful! It showed the two disk capacity - Disk #1 300MB on and a 7+GB on Disk #2...so, there's drive has been partitioned, thats why the missing 7+GB could not be seen and only showing 300MB.
