Default What's the difference between EDGE and GPRS?
Hey guys, I am with Telcel (in Mexico) and I have allways used GPRS, until recently they added Edge but the phones I had didn't have EDGE. I know telcel only has the edge plan for blackberry users, don't know why.

Anyways, I have an unlimited gprs plan with telcel, i had a question. why is it that I put my telcel gprs information (, username and password) in the EDGE settings of the iphone and it works? why isnt there a specific area for GPRS settings in the iphone? I just find it interesting that my gprs info is in the edge settings and its working fine.

EDGE stands for Enhanced Data Rates for GPRS Evolution, it is merely a faster transmission protocol based on GPRS.
