Thread: iphone freezes on lock screen

Default iphone freezes on lock screen
    Hi everyone,
I bought an unlocked and jailbroken phone a few weeks ago. within three days the phone started acting up. I would go to wake it up and slide the slider to inlock but the slider does not work. I did a soft reset and waited a few hours and it worked... then the problem persisted to the point that nothing I did would get the slider to work. I did a restore and unlocked and jailbroke the phone again. Now the slider still will not move. The strange thhing is that the time continues and if I press the home button the volume button comes on and I can move that with the side buttons. so I know it is not totally frozen but the touch screen is not responsive.

has anyone heard of this happening?

    Thanks

mine has acted up a few times. usually a hard reset clears it up. i usually notice it when i connect it ot my pc. it takes a bit to recognize the phone.

is a hard reset where you have to restore it in itunes? Cause that is what I have just done. and still no luck.

So, any help on this matter?
My iPhone freezes up EVERY time I lock it, no matter what i've installed, I leave it with whatever iplus 2.0 installed on it and still it freezes.
After it freezes I can get it to work 90% of the time with a hard reset, sometimes I have to restore it after this happens because the hard reset only gets me the silver apple with pinwheel.
I have restored it a million times, sometimes I get random errors in iTunes (like error 6, error 1604, etc.)
I have also tried Ziphone and iLiberty +.

If it is of any help I have a 16GB with 04.04.05_G baseband, 3.9_M3S2 bootloader 1.1.4 firmware.

So if you could help me I would appreciate it a lot!

A hard reset is either turning the phone off (press the sleep button until you see "Slide to power off") and back on again. Or pressing both the sleep and home buttons until you see the Apple symbol.

Haven't heard of any software issues that weren't fixed with a restore. Sorry, maybe you should have Apple check it out.

Get "iPod & iTunes for Dummies", it'll change your life.

I'm getting the same problem. I think it has something to do with the app "Intelliscreen"

if I let my sleep screen show (as opposed to black and sleep) too long, the shinyness stops at the same place everytime (at the VERY begining of the "sli" in "slide")

I hope they release an update that will fix this bug (assuming this is where it's coming from)

Restoring the iPhone doesn't seem to make a difference either.

What I think it may be, is if you installed intelliscreen once before or if you have it installed but not working properly, you make experience much difficultty in the normal usage of your phone.

can't wait until I can fully format my iphone!!

ok, so I restored the iphone twice in a row, once under normal mode and once under DFU mode but before I did that I used Bootneuter to get the baseband back to 4.6 and everything else back to OTB state.
I left the phone alone, no JB, no Unlock, no Activation done.... still 30 mins later I went to try to use it... nothing... it was frozen... I also think by now my problem is not software related... but is there any other way to more radically restore the software? like a format before a restore or anything like that??

hmm i have a similar problem, but it is wakeable with pressing the sleep/wake button once, then the phone is operational like normal

maybe you would like to try to SSH into the phone, then edit the file under System/Library/System Configuration/PowerManagementBundle, edit the file com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults

    copy and paste the following:

replace the whole thing, but make backup first just in case s**t happens

this solve the problem for me but it still takes up more power than usual but lesser power compared with constantly running apps like Insomnia to keep the phone awake all the time

I will try this zorrokun, but, where do I edit the file? I edited it within WinSCP, will that work?

  11. #10
safer method always is to copy the files to your comp first before attempting to edit anything, and edit the copy file, if scared can make 2-3 copies of the same file first, renaming differently of course

I'm sorry zorrokun, what I meat was: With what program can I edit .plist files?
