Default Phonebook Issues- Can't edit, delete or add contacts
I have searched google and all over this forum and could not find an answer.
I have wiped and restored 10 times.
    Used ziphone to unlocck, jailbreak
    1.1.4
    T-mobile
Entered all contacts initially over a month ago
Pulled those contacts off via openssh to my windows XP PC
    This file (AddressBook.sqlitedb)
Put them back on the same way.
I can't add new contacts or edit, delete existing contacts.

Anyone ever experience this? It is very annoying.

    No suggestions? Damn!

^Yeah, SSH in and change "AddressBook.app" or whatever it's called's permissions to 0777 or 0755. That should fix it, I believe.

i'm using WinSCP for SSH on a 3gs, with 3.0.1 OS. I'm having this same problem that I can't delete or add a new contact after restoring my contacts.

Sounds like the way to resolve this is via changing the premissions but don't know how to do this. Can anyone walk me through?

in WinSCP, right clickt the folder, select properties (I think) then enter 0777 in the field for the file-rights, make sure that "set rights recursively" is checked, click ok and there you go

wow! thank you! that was easy!

btw, i didn't have to set rights recursively for anyone else in the same situation. just changing to 0777 does the trick.

well, then you were lucky. if you set the right recursively, then not only the folder will get the new rights, but also all files within the folder. but obviously the folder was enough
