    Default Restoring 1.1.4 Woes
    Hi all,
Just bought an 8GB iPhone today (came with 1.1.3) and first thing i did before jailbreaking/activating it was to try and update to 1.1.4 (using restore and a downloaded copy of the 1.1.4 firmware) - however my iphone/iTunes isn't having any of it. It constantly pops up with a 1604 error in iTunes - press Shift+restore, select your firmware, the iPhone flashes white (looks like it has lines across it for a split second) and then shows a black screen (iTunes then seems timeout and the 1604 pops up). Have tried different USB ports, multiple re-installs of iTunes (latest version, 7.6.x) but it doesn't want to know if im updating with 1.1.3 or 1.1.4. Yet, i can happily update it with 1.1.1/1.1.2 without a single error, which is odd.

Have managed to get it all activated/jailbreaked using Ziphone and 1.1.2 but it seems to be a really problem restoring the iPhone with a newer version.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Much appreciated for any help

p.s - i've yet to try a different machine (currently only have one XP system here) but i assume it worths trying on another and possibly a mac?
