    Default Customising SMS Alert Sounds
Here is a simple guide to customising the SMS alert sounds on your unlocked/jailbroken iphone.
Firstly find yourself a new noise (in any format) and add it to your itunes library.
In iTunes Preferences, change the "Import Using" setting to AIFF encoder.
    OK that.
Select the new noise in the itunes library, right click, then select "Convert Selection to AIFF".
Itunes will make a copy in the new format. Make sure you know which foder it is in by selecting "Get Info".
Navigate to the new .aif file you have created.
    Rename this file to "sms-received6.caf"
    OK, so far?
You will now need a copy of iphonebrowser ........
    http://iphonebrowser.googlecode.com/...owser.1.52.exe
Run and then navigate to /system/library/audio/UIsounds/sms-received6.caf .This is the "Electronic" alert
    Rename this iphone file sms-received7.caf
The iphone can only cope with 6 alert noises so if you want to go back to the original "Electronic" noise you just need to rename it.
OK, now navigate to your new noise, and copy it into the folder with all the other .caf files.
    Job done.
The new noise will be called "Electronic" on the settings page for SMS on the iphone.
    Enjoy....
