    Default Text messageing ringtones
    Well i figured out how to make regular ringtones a long time ago...problem is im trying to figure out how to make a text messageing ringtone...hows is this done?

    its on here somewhere.

    Basically you export a sound in Quicktime and set the file type to .aiff

    After this you can then change it to .caf extension.

    Rename it to the smsreceived file you wish to replace eg sms-received5.caf.

    Then make a copy of the file you are replacing. SSH the file into the text message file directory and replace the original.

    Then when you select "bell" or whatever, it will play the alternate sound.

    Mine is currently Mr T saying "i pity the fool".

    Make sure you have a short msg file as i have heard that it will keep playing regardless of what you are doing at the time which could get annoying.

    Hope this helped someone out there.

    wow thanks RossMnz i always wondered but never took the time to figure it out thats prob the best explination. nice. i will hit the thank button for that one. is there any way to just ad it to the sms sound list??
