Thread: Hugely frustrating iPad problem.

    Default Hugely frustrating iPad problem.
I'm usually a great problem solver but I am stumped.

I have an iPad 1, originally from 3, not locked (confirmed by them), not IMEI blocked either (checkmend) It's been reset to death, yet when I insert an iPad sim (tried 4 networks including 3!) I get "Sim Failure".

I've googled, asked on twitter, played around myself, no luck.

Any of you have any wise advice or things worth having a go at?

    Thanks in advance.

    James.

Not to point out the obvious but if the iPad is reporting that the SIM is the failure then why have you not swapped out the SIM card. Usually if it's an iPad problem the message would be invalid SIM or no service or no SIM card.

4 different sim cards all with failures? The odds on that would be nuts.

EDIT: Which is exactly why it's so frustrating.

Gotcha. Looks like a warranty issue then. Does everything else work?

What provider are you trying to use? Are all the SIMs you have tried from one provider? If so, it sounds to me that the provider is not supported.
And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream!

    4 different networks, 3, t-mobile, O2 and Vodafone.

Odd, I would have to agree with Poseiden then, check into warranty repair or replacement? Now you mention the iPad being reset, do you mean restore or choosing settings > general > resets? Also, does it work with the original SIM that came with it?
