Sounds like anemone's implementation may have issues reading local files.

What's funny is that inside filza, when clicking the index.html, it works. It shows the weather. It only doesn't show the weather on the actual springboard.

Well Filza would be using its own implementation of webview to display the widget so that's not surprising. The problem here doesn't lie with the widget itself or widget weather but with anemone's sbhtml. Sounds like it may have an issue reading local files right now.

Actually quickly looking at the write up for anemone's html on github looks like widgets may need to be tweaked a bit to work properly with it to read local files using the API examples there. So doesn't look like it will be as easy as just dumping old sbhtml widgets into anemone and them working right off the bat. Seems a bit overcomplicated in the way it is done imo but who am I to say that.

Is there any universal thing I should be looking for in the old sbhtml widgets to change? I see the write up on github but I just don't know enough JavaScript to start tweaking the codes.

That sounds very much like a ownership problem.
Filza runs as "root" user and can open every file.
Springboard runs as user "mobile" and can open files that belong to the user "mobile" or the "mobile" group, it can not open files that belong to "root".
Change the owner and group of that index.html file to "mobile" and try again.

It's not that simple Ras. You have to whitelist the Folder that you want to access in a plist and then you have to use a new API to access the data. Crap!

I'm not even going to pretend that I know how to do this.

Build 217 made it a lot simpler to convert now. I don't know if the wiki is updated, but I may update something for others to see.

Ah, Anemone, no idea about the internal working of that one.
I use it, but only with the simplest of themes. One theme with just 2 images, that's it!
Never looked into any other use of Anemone.
Only the symptoms of a file working in Filza/iFile, but not with Springboard, is in most cases a file ownership problem.

Anemone has Springboard HTML capabilities now. Maybe you might need to reconsider it.

For some reason every time I respring or restart my phone my widget stops updating as well, I fix by deleting and re adding the widget. After that it updates fine.

Are we still talking widgets running in Anemone? If so.. It's a known bug that Coolstar is working on. Are we talking about Anemone HTML or an iWidget?
