Thread: Widget Weather 2.0 - New and Extemely Improved

  1. #621
Yeah i saw and i'm using it as we speak. It seems to bring up the issue of not being able to read the xml file again. My SB widget updates perfectly fine though.

Something else i noted. When I preview the lockscreens in the groovylock directory, it seems to to work fine and pull info from the weather widget only when im in ifile.

I had exactly the same issue, but after upgrading to 8.1.2 it fixed itself.
    What iOS are you using?

Just another update. Got my 6 plus yesterday, upgraded it to 8.1.2 and WW is working perfect.

    Happy holidays all

I'm using 8.1. And yeah I've heard it's buggy on 8.1. Might have to upgrade. But I was using groovylock+ with its new Api testing it, and only one lockscreen works with it atm. So I may not have to upgrade yet

I see. I'm a bit - well very - lost with all this WebKit / API stuff, so I'm sitting back and seeing what happens and waiting for someone to say "it works and no resprings!".

All I can say for certain is that under 8.1.2 WW creates & updates the XML file with no problems. That being said, I had to put up with a load of resprings. I have, therefore, removed all my LS themes and theming tweaks and my phone is behaving perfectly. I still use WW for my iWidgets and it's excellent.

It's a shame because WW2 is clearly much better, all we need is a stable LS theming tweak, which from my basic understanding, is what they're trying to achieve.

@Neil, are you getting resprings with LB 8? June said his LS users aren't getting resprings.

Would love a stable widget but don't want to pay 5 dollars only to find it crashing like everything else.

Yes, sadly I do. It's a real shame because I've created lots of LockBuilder themes I would like to use. Since removing it I've had none at all.
I even get resprings whilst trying to edit / create LB themes, so I eventually gave up.
I have very few tweaks installed and whilst I don't want to blame one particular bit of software, once I removed it the problems went away.

That is a shame man. I appreciate it, would have been upset to have bought it and then find out I can't even use it.

This is only 1 of 2 lockscreens I have found with weatherwalls that do not cause my phone to respring. [IMG]-imageuploadedbymodmyi1419601289.771497.jpg

    Cool. Which one is that?
I have to point out I use an iPhone 6 Plus with 8.1.2 and understand its mainly the 6+ with the constant respring issue.

    It's here and it's for the 6+. http://modmyi.com/forums/iphone-5-ne...ge%-print.html

I just removed the opacity and changed the weatherwalls. Uses infostats to get the battery image and readout. But I have been using it for several days now and I haven't had a single respring on my 6+.

Cool, thank you. I will give that a try and report how it goes on my 6+.
Edit: the link gives me a 404 bad link error.

Oh dear... I've had this before. It doesn't fit.
Did you have to play with the sizing? If so, how did you do it?

Interesting. I didn't have to do anything with it. I only added a different set of weatherwalls and removed the opacity in the body of the CSS file. I also had to move the timer a bit but that's all.

Neil, if you want perfect stability and no resprings on 6+ - follow my instructions in post #2344 of page 118 of the UniAW7 thread. The LockScreen version has occasional black screen as this new way of running html is in beta - but at least you'll have the amazing UniAW7 back running in your LS and SB with 0 resprings. Hit me up on iMessage if you have any trouble with the installation.

Thanks G. I've just started using Chevy's LS theme and it's working great! On that basis I'll hang in there and see what happens as its behaving beautifully!
