As long as something is using the location services the icon will appear on the statusbar, you can however opt to disable the icon:
Settings/Privacy/Location Services/System Services - scroll to the very last option, but this will disable the icon only.

Why not add them to the "Aditional Locations", you can have up to 5 extra locations (plus your current location) and swipe through them all in the widget, pretty cool.

Ian, I'm pretty sure that button only turns on or off the status bar indicator for items running in the system services sub-pane of Location Services. WidgetWeather isn't in the System Services section but one layer above and I'm pretty sure that button won't affect the Location Services indicator for WW. For that you need a tweak like Cloaky, HideMe or Springtomize.

That's correct, sir. If you want WW2 to not operate all the time using Location Services you have to set it to Fixed. Then enter your coordinates.

This is exactly what to expect from a GPS app. .. It will always access Location Services. In my personal testing this is only an additional battery drain of 2-5% per day. Insignificant to me- so I keep mine on all the time in GPS mode.

As I mentioned - you don't need an on/off switch. Just set it to Fixed and enter your coordinates. It will not access the LocSvcs.

    You're right, thanks, my bad.

    @ WW Team,

Do our WW widgets use the lat & long from the xml file with only 2 decimal places?

Like KOH said if you have the "MyLocation" toggle (in Extra Settings) set to "on" it will create a "myLocation.txt" file in your Documents folder (var/mobile/Documents) containing you current location coordinates.

You can get other location coordinates (for use in the "Additional Locations") here:

GPS coordinates Google Maps, latitude and longitude

Maybe a reboot and or respring or 2. Try toggling the GPS and the force refresh toggles.
