  3. #123
wooow, you 3G users need the "com.apple.voiceover.enabled.plst"
i am also a 3G user and have a 3GS for a short while, what i was saying is that i have voice over touch enabled in the 3GS settings>general, and found the file "com.apple.voiceover.enabled.plst" in the file system but its empty even on the 3GS itself

    Hey Everyone,

We are getting somewhere, check out what I found under 'Passcode Settings', cool. Looks like something to do with Voice Control is working.

    Cheers,
    Chris

But the thing is it did not show up before I uploaded the modified files, interesting..

Can someone else try that libAccessibility.dylib file to see how it runs?

    Cheers,
    Chris

    *EDIT*

For some reason, I cannot copy the 'VoiceServices' file across to the '/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/VoiceServices.framework' directory on my iPhone 3G along with various other files.

I tried SSH'ing it across, no luck.
So tried a copy and paste using 'Copy Share' and pasting it into the empty file through 'iFile', No luck either, that returned 'Error: Operation cold not be completed. (Cocoa error 640.)'.

Everything is on 777 Permissions? Whats up? Can anyone help!

    Cheers,
    Chris

    *EDIT*

Oh S***, OpenSSH keeps returning errors when I try to re-install it?? WTF?
Can someone lend me a hand?

    *EDIT FURTHER*

Wohooo! It worked! I rebooted then was able to Re-Install OpenSSH with no trouble at all.

    *EDIT EVEN FURTHER*

Oh F***, OpenSSH is running fine, it just damn well refuses to copy across the 'VoiceServices' file. Arghhhh, Sigh!

Download the Voice Control files here:
    Voice_Control.rar - FileFactory

Make sure all files and folders you copy to your iPhone 3G have '777' Permissions.

Place files in corresponding directories, you will see.

Do not copy the 'libAccessibility.dylib' until everything else is on, and you have rebooted.

Copy the attached file (com.apple.voiceover.enabled.plist, It's complete and ready to go) (uploaded in my next post), to both of the following directories:

    "/private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/" and
    "/private/var/root/Library/Preferences/".

Go into the 'M68AP.plist' file in your 'Springboard.app', backup the orginal, add the following strings:
    ---------------------------------------
    accessibility = true
    accessibility-enabled = true
    application-accessibility-enabled = true
auto-focus-camera = true (Improves Camera Quality)
gas-guage-battery = true (gives the batteries percentage)
    voice-control = true
    voice-over-touch-enabled = true
    voice-over-touch-usage-confirmed = true
    zoom-touch-enabled = true
    ---------------------------------------

Go onto Cydia and search for 'MobileTerminal', Install that, then search for 'ldid', it will give you the command you need for MobileTerminal to do the Signing of the Apps.

Follow the signing app step further back in this discussion (think its on page 7 or 8).

    Once that is done, Reboot.

Tell me if anything happens, if it works or not?

If it still does not work (Backup your iPhone), go ahead and place 'libAccessibility.dylib' on your 3G, just keep your fingers crossed, it may work, should do, I dont know as I have not been able to test it.

    Cheers,
    Chris

Here is the enabled plist you need, completed and ready to go.
See how my file edits above match the Strings/Values in this plist.

I have tried most of it, not 100% on the 'libAccessibility.dylib', I would recommend you Backup just in case it causes a Restore. The instructions I provided before should enable 'Voice Control' on the iPhone 3G (not s) Handset.

So far its worked for me.

    Try it out.

    Cheers,
    Chris

    P.S: Cross your fingers.

    *EDIT*

Make sure you follow the instructions closely and in order.

Just in case the files aren't signed, here is the correct process for ldid

    1. Make sure you have ldid. Try "ldid -s whatever". It should give you some error other than unknown command. If you get unknown command go to step 2. Otherwise go to step 3.

    2. To get ldid, type "apt-get ldid"

    3. Navigate to the file that needs to be signed, this would be vot, VoiceServices, voiced, etc.

    4. type "ldid -s file" replacing file with the file that needs to be signed, for example vot

    5. type "killall SpringBoard"

Thank me if it works and also thank me for Contributing to this Development, Thanks =)

    Cheers,
    Chris
