    Default Cydia Refreshing Error....Please help?
Everytime I open Cydia, it downloads the new packages and right before it refreshes the data, I always get this error (see attached screenshot). Does anyone know why? I have tried re-installing Cydia a few times but it continues to show up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Try this bud:

    Cydia Crash on Load:

    Quote:
    1) SSH into your device or use iPhone Browser
    2) Navigate to the /var/lib/apt/lists/ folder.
    3) Delete everything EXCEPT the partial folder.
    4) Reboot.

Ok, awesome! I was worried that something on my phone was messed up. Thanks for the info.

Exact same errors occur on mine too, why does this occur and in regards to fixing the problem can someone give a little more detail about sshing and how to do this for someone who hasn't done this before? I have a mac not a pc if this makes a difference. A more detailed step by step walkthrough on what to do for ssh noobs would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if this will help or not but have you tried removing those sources and re-adding them?

  10. #9
Yes, when removing it disappears, but it just comes back when you put those repos back on

Ok I used cyberduck to ssh... I'm at /var/lib/apt/lists folder
what are these files? And what is there purpose?

Ok that fixed it!!! That was much easier than I thought
    thanks iGarza
much appreciated... But I still don't undertsand why those files were ther, what there purpose is, and do I lose out on anything after I delete it besides losing those errors

Ok it only kinda fixed it... I went into cydia and it load normal, no errors, but I go to 'changes' icon on the bottom and it goes to an empty page now, I press 'refresh' up in the top corner and it updates database the the same errors appear. Is the stuff that I deleted the things that use to be in the changes page that have now dissapeared?

private/var/lib/apt/lists directory, Files you will see are all the sources you have added and the ones that came with Cydia

  12. #11
I also just went back into /var/lib/apt/lists folder and there are more files again in there ( not as many tho)
how do I stop these errors when refreshing the database?
As I think this maybe what is preventing me being able to update cydia so it apparently can run faster, as that new cydia update I don't remember ever getting yet

The first post u didn't put 'private'!!!!
    Will that make a difference????
Not all of them are repos
    'apt.saurik.com_dists_tangelo-3.7_Release

I just loaded cydia again and the errors are back when it does the auto update.

So all my sources are deleted.
Re install all those sources now?

I would add one at a time and after you load each one, make sure you close cydia and go back in. the reason is just to see if you get any errors contacting those sites.

  14. #13
In cydia then manage then packages the repos are still there but in sources it completly empty, will this be a problem downloading apps or anything ???

Are you saying In cydia I add the defualt sources? ( how do I do that?) Or do I now delete and add the repo packages ?

When I press refresh the errors came up, but they also loaded in the changes page and added 3 sources in 'manage'
    bigboss, modmyi, and zodttd
every time I refresh it still show errors
