Default How to conceal and unconceal jailbreaking?
Just before a genius appointment I did these to conceal my jailbreak:
    - Use sbsettings to hide all jailbreak icons including Cydia.
    - Go to mobile substrate and inactivate spotbright and all components.
    - Launch Cydia from the docked application list in sbsettings and there I uninstalled sbsettings, so the genius can't swipe the status bar and discover sbsettings.

After the appointment, I want to undo the above but found myself stucked because I can't launch Cydia to reinstall sbsettings in order to deactivate all the installed substrates and unhide my jailbreak applications. I forgot that since I had deactivated spotbright I could no longer launch Cydia which is now a hidden application!

Is there an alternative way of unhidding Cydia? Perhaps by connecting to my PC via DiskAids and manipulate some files using my PC?

Thanks but that has not helped.

I have just tried resetting all settings. It reveals some cydia applications and mess up the icon arrangements but unfortunately Cydia itself is still hidden.

I'm even a bigger noob than you as I have not done any installation from a deb file before.

How do we get a deb file of SBSetting and how do we install it from the PC?

Ssh will get the .deb to the phone and should allow you to install the file as well. But if you didn't install ssh then were stuck there.

Google is your friend as to the deb file

    Thanks A3gOwner. You're right there.

Even if I had installed it, I reckon it will not work. Because all of us are likely to have switched it off using SBSetting (so that it will not drain battary).

Is it possible to install deb file using DiskAid instead?

Ssh does not drain the battery. No reason to turn off unless you didn't change default passwords. Never used diskaid personally so I can not tell u whether you can or not. If you have Ifile, just find cydia.app and launch from there.

That's what I had already done. Except the method I used was slightly different. I simply launched iFile. Strangely it asked me to register even I had already officially purchased it. The registration button itself launched Cydia and I managed to install sbsettings and got everything back since.

The only other problem I had was with Sygic which somehow managed to lose it's Safety Cemera feature during the setting reset. I had to uninstall it and resync with iTune to fix that.

I hope somehow someone could make this thread more useful to others who might be lucky enough to have iFile or ssh installed and provide a way to install sbsettings from a PC.

Thank you for your extremely valuable input.
