I like how this has turned into a let's talk about how fast my MBP boots up thread lol. The question was, let me rephrase this eloquently...

IN COMPARISON TO SL, DID YOU NOTICE ANY SLOW DOWN IN BOOTUP TIME AFTER UPGRADING TO LION? YES OR NO?

Edit: gonna go edit my OP so that people don't come waltzing in here telling me what their bootup time is rather than answering the topic lol.

No not really much of a difference lol

In SL I got 1:08 boot time. iMac 2011 with 1tb hard drive.

Downloading Lion now, this may take a little while lol.

Well I have a lotta junk on it. Plus I have like 4 USB hard drives connected to it so all that probably slows it down a bit. Should still give an accurate reading of the difference between SL and Lion though.

Thats why I love my macbook air so much too. Love my SSD in it. 12 seconds flat is where it's at

Since I got my MacBook Pro with Lion installed I can't answer that question. I was hoping the time I included would offer you some insight and/or comparison.

Not quite, what I really wanted to know was if the OS difference is affected. I know what the general boot time for MacBooks typically are, I wanted to know if there was a difference with boot time between the two OS X versions; not so much how fast what hardware boots.

  18. #38
my boot time for my 2010 MBP slowed by 10 seconds. With snow leopard it was about 30 seconds. With lion 40.
