Thread: I broke it again!

    Unhappy I broke it again!
Ok so I feel the need to rant!

I broke my iPhone like 2 weeks ago restoring from 4.0.1 to 3.1.3 it too like 2 days to find out all options are 32-bit OS compatible only...

Got it up and running nice with 3.1.3 without SHSH's whatever those are, yes I am still new to doing this stuff

Now cydia keeps crashing while I am selecting packages so I go googling away for an answer and the first one was delete files here and reboot, didn't help it crashed while browsing the files, second one was delete files here and in dpkg/updates or something, so I am drinking and think wow ok, that might fix it...

I pop open iFile and go to town, I look up and notice I wasn't supposed to delete the files in dpkg except lock

Long story short I haz fail!

No info anywhere about how to fix cydia, I downloaded a zip file from here and patched it, but it still didn't know what version I was running or anything.

So now here I am on my xp sp2 32-bit partition restoring to 3.1.3 feeling stupid writing this out to rant and let other people that are knew know read directions carefully before you delete or do anything

    A. Nice job for crashing Cydia!
    B. Wrong section.
Asking for help is different from being stupid. Fanboys can rot in @#$%!

I didn't know where else to post it, but yea, I tend to find ways to destroy an OS before I learn it lol

thats never good, i wouldnt delete any files with ifile.

You should have ssh'ed into your phone, and backup any files you are changing.

i would also do another restore to see if it fixes cydia.
