    "DON'T LEAVE US! PLEASE!"
Let the man buy the PC, it's not as if you've lost one of your dear mac community to an enemy....oh wait.

Had a PC all the times and finally bought a MAC 2 months ago.
I was sick of all the windows based problems my PC had and well, I hate Microsoft.

Apple is the way to go and to stay.

Sure, the prices are high but a Mac is worth every cent.
If I could help you with my answer give me a

Thanks again for helping me out guys, each system has pros and cons.

Build your own if you can. You'll get more bang for your buck.

I personally use a Windows PC (built by me) for gaming but in the near future I'll be getting a Mac Book so I'll have both. I think both have their good and bad points.
    Apples taste good.

but on a more serious note...

    look into this website:
    OSx86 Project | InsanelyMac

You'll be able to build a powerful IBM and run OSX and XP and Vista all at the same time. (or any combination of the three)

this is the cheapest and most efficient solution in my eyes

    good luck

theres just something about a pc that i love, the ability to gut the entire thing and scrap it together with more or less parts sometimes not even in a tower. I don't think i've ever taken my servers apart and not had either left over screws or not enough. but they still run i think chaos inspires creativity
Not to mention the two or three hard drives that are always hanging out of the case...

Actually, I like using OSX quite a bit, but I also use Windows for certain applications. But my solution goes the opposite way -- I have a home-brew PC with OSX 10.5.3 installed on a 750G hard drive. It runs rock-stable and fast, and I reboot to Windows whenever I need to access XP or Vista.

    That's right -- I can't remember the last time I gammed...

Agreed. The project can be a bit daunting, and a lot of it is hardware dependent, but luckily for me my PC hardware matches up very well to installing OSX.

I enjoy Macs, Because they can run Windows and OS X. Its the best of both worlds.
They are better computers, and are simply, better?
    But thats my opinion.

macs may definitely be better but if u want more "freedom" then i think PC's r definitely better. u can practically open up and dismantle a PC and get replacement parts which wud not be burning holes in ur a**. macs r just ridiculously priced. i have compared prices for almost similar specs mac pro and a HP pavilion. and the difference just boggles my mind.

Yeah, though i love building custom PC's, its Windows i can't stand, on my custom built i threw Ubuntu on it (to lazy to hackint0sh it) And im getting an iMac, the hardware is fine for what i do, though i wish i could get a little more choice. But its all right as long as it runs OS X, and not Windows..

I can't belive I'm saying this but... I agree with Zeal 100%. You can get a high end system that will running anything you throw at it for less than $1500. Dell and Alienware (especially Alienware) are overpriced.

I recently bought a computer that can run just about anything for $1300. That $1300 includes the desktop (and everything in it: mobo, ram, hard drive, dvd, video card, processor, cooling), the OS (Vista-64), and a 22" Monitor.

To drive this point across, I went ahead and customized the Alienware desktop that comes closest to the range I'm in (Area-51 7500), and customized it so that's a mirror image of what I have in my computer. The alienware total? $2,113!. That's almost $800 more than what I payed!

I wish I was making that up. I'll post both my Newegg wish list and Alienware customized list to prove that they're the same. I'm really not making this up. DON'T BUY ALIENWARE.

I'm a helpful jerk, fear me.
