    Default moving to the US
I will be moving to the US soon and I am just wondering if i go with ATT will I have to buy a new iphone 4 to get the plan? or will i be able to use my current iphone 4(UK factory unlocked) and just pay the fee for the plan? oh and is there a way to get unlimited data for ATT?

    Thanks!

My guess is that your phone will function just fine here, and you won't need to buy one from AT&T. As for unlimited data, nope, if you don't already have it over here, you won't get it.

Your phone is just fine. Don't let anyone tell you different.

AT&T (any any carrier) will be VERY HAPPY to get you to sign a contract, especially without a phone (they make more $$ that way). Carriers claim to live and die on contracts. Since you have your phone, you have many options. Explore those and save money.

If you want 3G, you'll really have to go with AT&T. T-Mobile's 3G is on a different frequency over here, and it's not compatible with the iPhone.

If you drive a Toyota or Honda, go with T-Mobile. As trooper said, if 3G speeds are important, AT&T. Everything else is about the same.

Except for coverage. Tmo coverage sucks.

Okay, time for a Trooper Sam learning moment! What does T-Mobile have to do with Honda and Toyota?

^^Sorry for the dry humor. Generally, T-Mobile is cheaper than the others (AT&T, Verizion, Sprint) and have frequent promotions. AT&T is considered the 'Cadillac or Mercedes' high-cost carrier.

Okay, I feel simultaneously more informed and just a little bit dumber because I did not detect the humor in the aforementioned post.
