Default SMS Exporting for legal purposes.
Is there any app (app store or cydia) that can export SMS messages to any format, preferably something easy to read and easy to discern who sent what? It must be able to save these to a PC so they can then be printed (being used in a court case).

On the day it will be OK to show the actual messages on screen but in the mean time they need to be put into a solicitors file.

    Thanks

Because it's got to be admitted as evidence, I'd suggest sending it to a forensics team. They'll extract everything, put it in a readable format, and probably make a copy of the entire iphone's storage for verification purposes. Most imporatantly, they'll document everything to make sure that no doubts can be raised later on.

Remember, all your opponent need do is suggest the possibility that the application you used modified the data in any way, and it's a big step on the way to getting your evidence invalidated.

Thanks cypher. Can you suggest any such places in the UK, and what is the typical cost of such a service?

Your lawyer should know what to do.

I found "PhoneView" (link here) - it's mac only but luckily I have a mate rich enough to afford one so I am going to go and use his.

I agree with whoever said talk to your lawyer. You'll get nowhere if you try doing this yourself, and probably end up wasting money on a lawsuit you're doomed to lose.

If you're going into this without a lawyer, then...God help you, dude.

"in the mean time they need to be put into a solicitors file."

Thought that would have tipped the hat towards me already having a solicitor/lawyer (one and the same, fundamentally).

Thanks for the responses though. I found a forensics facility close to home and I'm currently awaiting a reply back from them.
