Thread: Navigon GPS iPhone

  1. #41
Yeah the gps is very picky. Both google maps and XGPS will pick up my exact location when I'm inside my apartment next to my sliding door, but navigon won't in the same exact location. Works pretty well though when it does.

The apps is best at what it is. I love this one and it really do not need to have any 3G or edge connection and also the plan for it. Really a good apps to have in the iPhone.

I found that Navigon located me precicely, but the GPS kept losing lock-on but it would always come back on again fairly quickly.

Bought the app last night as it's currently on special for my region (Southern Africa) and neither Tom Tom nor Sygic offer maps.

So far I'm very happy with my purchase

Navigon puts the maps “on-board” the device. This has benefits and drawbacks. The drawbacks are that they are not automatically updated and more importantly this makes for one huge app weighing in at around 1.2 GB in size. Some people might not want an app that big on their phone and it doesn’t lend well to more spontaneous purchases.
