    Hello rossmnz,

I have just released the first official version of iChinese, a native Chinese dictionary and trainer application for iPhone and iPod Touch. Perhaps this fits to your needs.
iChinese 1.0 brings Chinese Dictionaries (English, German) natively to the iPhone / iPod Touch. You can draw Chinese characters directly onto the touchscreen - with this you can look up any unknown character. You can also look up pinyin or the english definition. Furthermore iChinese is training (hand-)writing and reading of Chinese characters with lessons, that are derived from the famous "Practical Chinese Reader" book series. It is an ideal companion for your Chinese training course at school or university. The iChinese application as well as the first four training lessons are for free, all further lessons and the dictionary functionality will cost a few cents.

    Hope this helps.
