Thread: CDMA 3gs in TU?!?!

  1. #1
    Default CDMA 3gs in TU?!?!
So I have a 3gs I just bought of cl and it's on the connect to itunes screen, so I stuck a sim in it and connected it to itunes (everyday issue right?) no... no sim detected, so I opened TU and saved the SHSH, it comes up as an Iphone4 CDMA and saves the SHSH for several Iphone4 CDMA ios versions.....

So I figured I'd try to restore it to a 3GS ios, but it keeps rejecting it...

Any ideas what the heck is going on here?

That's crazy. A 3GS returning SHSH blobs for an iPhone 4.
I would Re-download Tiny Umbrella into a new directory and start from scratch. I sure would not trust anything until this mystery is solved

if it's in recovery or dfu it has one ecid and returns Iphone 4 SHSH blobs. if it's at the lock screen where it normally shows No sim or w/e sim you have it just says iphone, but when I plug it in it shows up in TU with a 3gs model number but says Invalid and it won't do anything when you hit save shsh blobs

Regardless of it's state, if the iPhone is plugged in and TinyUmbrella shows anything, it should be the correct ECID. It's still a mystery as far as I'm concerned. Try a different USB port, cable, and/or computer.

Did you use TU with an ip4 in the past? Or did you manually enter an ECID?

I have saved probably hundreds of shsh's on this computer, I erased the tu files in the folder and tried manually entering the ECID again and tried it again and it saved the blobs, restoring it now. seems to be going ok, still a mystery as to why it seemed to have a CDMA software on it though, and why it returned cdma blobs for a 4

Nope, made itunes crash and TU opened it back up as an IPhone 4 cdma

iTunes should never crash. Maybe it's time to use a different computer.

haha, I know right? I tried a different computer, same results.... I'm considering trying to restore it to a cdma ios you don't think there's any chance it's a prototype do you? lol, crazy chances, but I've done a ton and never seen anything like this.

Like you, never seen this before. Your guess is as good as mine

well it fully restored to a snowbreeze version of 4.1 then went into a recovery loop, so I went into TU to try to get it out and it won't kick it out and the phone still shows up as an IPhone 4 cdma, and everytime my phone reconnects or goes into dfu it adds another iphone 4 cdma in TU, all the same.

lol, well it's contagious apparently because I'm completely confused myself, I figured a quick turn around on a cheap locked up iphone and now I'm wondering if I have a paperweight or a prototype haha

yeah it says the software version is 4.2.7......

now if it's in recovery it will show up as a recovery device no model or anything, won't save shsh though

what's crazy though is it shows as a recovery device, but it's not showed as being connected.

Use Mac Profiler or USBView (Win) to find the ECID from the USB connection and manually enter in Tiny Umbrella.

I used USB View, and entered it in shows up as a 3gs and will save several blobs but still won't recover

    What's the iTunes Error?
Did you enter pwnd-DFU mode before restoring?
    What iOS version?

  17. #17
Pwnd-dfu (ireb) IOS 4.1 (snowbreeze custome) no itunes error puts it in a recovery loop that TU won't kick it out of.
