Default Restored + Wiped iphone - still has app store username!
Just wondering - how can my iPhone (3GS) still retain my iTunes Store username after being restored and even wiped?

I had it JB'd and on 4.0.1, I restored to factory 4.0.1 and when I happen to try installing iBooks i noticed it still had my username saved! So I tried the Reset -> Erase Everything option. This time I had to activate the handset in iTunes, but after that it still had my username!

Is it just based on IP? I want to make sure everything has been wiped off.

    Goto settings>Store and sign out.

If you want to make sure everything of yours is off the phone then do a restore and set up as a new phone instead of from backup.

Activating (or even connecting) a brand new or freshly restored/wiped iDevice with iTunes will automatically grant that device your access credentials.

Simply sign out of the account on the device (Settings->Store->Sign Out) and you'll be good to go.

Ahh of course - I didn't think of iTunes.

    Cheers
