    Default Question abt Recovering a 3.1.2 3GS
    Hi All,
I have a 3GS with jail broken 3.1.2 with blackra1n, I am on ATT and do not need an unlock. I have SHSH hashes on file for 3.1 3.1.2 and 3.1.3. I recently encountered a problem, where my phone refuses to vibrate. Based on what I have read the first step is to perform a recovery. So here are my questions:
If I recover, I have to go to 3.1.3, which currently doesn't have a jailbreak, correct?
On the off chance that this is indeed a software issue, and the phone regains vibrate function upon recovery, I can downgrade the phone back to 3.1.2 and jailbreak it again, correct?
If it is a hardware issue, and I have to return it to the store, and they give me a 3.1.3 phone, I am boned until a jailbreak for 3.1.3 comes out, correct?

    Thanks!

Use the guides on the top of the page, has been covered again and again.
You need to change your host file to accept your SHSH files from Cydia's server.

As other already suggested, don't upgrade, follow the instruction, change the host, then restore your phone with 3.1.2 (make sure you download the correct FW 3GS 3.1.2)
Don't worry about the last couple steps such as error stuff...you won't get any errors because your phone is currently on 3.1.2, this is not really a downgrade.
    good luck

If the phone is already jailbroken you don't have to worry about the shsh method you can just reinstall a custom 3.1.2 firmware by holding shift while you click restore and browsing to where you have the firmware stored on your computer. A jailbroken phone has no problem loading a custom firmware. Use sn0wbreeze or pwnage tool to create one.
