Thread: Backup running firmware?

    Default Backup running firmware?
First of all - sorry, but I'm still a n00b when it comes to iPhones. I'm running a jailbroken 3.0.1 on my 3GS. I don't have any files on Cydia or whatever. I understand a little about the signing process.

But I was wondering: isn't it possible to backup the currently running firmware of my iPhone and use that backup to restore my 3.0.1 in case something goes wrong? I tried to google for this, but man - the iPhone firmware backup gives back tons of hits, non of the them usefull. :-(

there is no way. you can however get your 3.1 ECID info onto Cydia, that will allow you to go back to 3.1 in the future.
