Unhappy I need help downgrading my 3gs from3.1 to 3.0
I have my ecid#. When I try to downgrade back to 3.0 itunes tells me device is not eligible for the requested build. I have added 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com to host, and it won't work. I am using PC. Can anybody help me?

Your ECID was stored on Cydia before you upgraded to 3.1?

I think a better question is, "was it stored before 3.1 was released?"

if not you're stuck with 3.1

Yeah it was stored when I was on 3.0.1
that means even if you got it stored before 3.1 came out you STILL CAN'T goto 3.0, only 3.0.1

Nope it won't let me. I have been trying for weeks. On both my PCs laptop and desktop.

I think it was before 3.1 came out. I've tried to go back to 3.0 & 3.0.1 and I get the same message. Think I need to have it done on a mac?

whats the message or error #?

NOTE: you may have submitted your ECID, but Cydia doesn't have it. the "make my life easier" button was still up even though it wasn't working. Its possible you may be stuck with 3.1 like most people here.

There's got to be a way. I think it may work if I do it on a mac. I'll try and keep you posted.

Is your phone still working? What does it say on Cydia? Does it say you have your 3.0 ECID hashed?

I did my downgrade on Window XP myself.

I don't know how to find out if it's stored in cydia.

When my phone was jailbroken cydia said that there was an shsh on file. I was on 3.0.1 at the time.

    My phone is working fine.

I have my ecid#, but I got it using a program after I upgraded to 3.1

NVM Your talking about the instructions. I followed that step by step and the error that I stated above is what I get.

    yes i meant the instructions

ok, you got your ecid after you upgraded to 3.1, that means you can only get a 3.1 SHSH file.

modify your host file to point to gs.apple.com (like the instructions say) and run tinytss, you will see a "NOTE: 3.1 blobs detected" or something mixed in with all the other text. this tells you you have your ECID info saves on Cydia
