  • Apple's New iPads Take Center Stage in Massive Global Launch

On Friday, Apple presided over the biggest global launch for the iPad in company history.

After preorders commenced just one week ago, Apple's new 4th generation iPad and the long-awaited iPad mini are turning up in consumer hands today. All told, today's launch is the biggest product launch we've ever seen from Apple. And this is precisely why some believe Apple will sell between 20-30 million iPads before 2012 draws to a close next month.

“Clearly, the iPad mini is off to a strong start and we believe this will be the next star in the Apple portfolio,” Brian White of Topeka Capital Markets tells Forbes today, noting that product sell-outs are already being observed at Apple stores.

“We continue to believe that while launch lines and initial weekend sales may not be as impressive as previous iPad launches, the iPad Mini will be a hit product for Apple and become a more significant part of the story over the next 2-3 quarters,” Gene Munster added today.

All told, Apple has a huge global reach to find success with this winter. This morning, both iPad models went on sale in a whopping grand total of 34 countries, including - naturally - the United States. Apple's new must-have products also rolled out today in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.K.
