  • Final Cut Pro X To Arrive Next Week

According to Japanese Mac blog Macotakara Apple is going make good on their claim of releasing Final Cut Pro X before the end of June. The release will take place next week along with a number of announcements regarding several new third-party Thunderbolt-capable peripherals.

For those that remember Apple first debuted the updated version of their professional editing software the National Association of Broadcasters event in April. A number of the overhauled softwares new and updated features were demoed, but nothing has been heard from Apple since regarding Final Cut Pro X since.

Whether the release of Final Cut Pro X next week coincides with announcements or releases of the other pieces of software that traditionally make up the Final Cut Editing Suite is still unknown. While a number of the functions of Soundtrack, Color, and Motion have made their way into Final Cut Pro X, these capabilities are no where near what editing pros are used to.

However, Apple did say at the NAB presentation that what was shown was "just a sneak peak of Final Cut Pro," and to "stay tuned."

We'll all be tuned in next week, hopefully it's worth the wait.

Can't wait. The last version was so horrible that I had to go back down a step.
