  • extra_recipe jailbreak receives unofficial support for more devices

extra_recipe jailbreak has received an unofficial build which supports more devices.

extra_recipe was initially only for the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. While mixed reports have shown both increased stability for some devices, it's still unconfirmed what advantage extra_recipe has compared to Yalu102.

According to the developer who compiled the application, it's mostly xerub's, the original developer's code, with some modifications. The support for iOS 10.0.1-10.2 for 64bit devices was the modification that Pwn20wnd added which wasn't present in Xerub's original jailbreak, as that one only included some firmwares.

The app looks and behaves just like any other build of extra_recipe or Yalu, however, we had completely no success of getting it to work on our iOS 10.2-powered devices, even after trying from ten to fifteen times just like the developer mentioned in the comments on the release Reddit post.

The developer claims the extra_recipe jailbreak to be more stable than the current Yalu102 jailbreak, which may be true for Apple A10 devices, but not on older models as stability there has been reported to be worse, not better, when compared to Yalu102.

If you're currently running a pre-A10 device with iOS 10, you should probably stick with Yalu for the time being, while iPhone 7 users could use for some gained stability by using this package. You could try both packages and see which one offers best stability, however, there is no official answer as these tools are undocumented.

The unofficial build of extra_recipe can be downloaded from the link bellow and sideloaded using Cydia Impactor, however, as this is an unofficial build, ModMyi takes no responsibility for consequences it can bring.

Does not work for the 5s GSM model on 10.2. Just reboots.

Is there ever going to be a JB for 10.2.1 and above?
