  • iOS 9.3.2 Causing Some 9.7-Inch iPad Pro Units to Brick Due to ‘Error 56’ Message

Earlier today, Apple officially released iOS 9.3.2 to the masses, but it looks like some owners of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro are having some issues.

Reported by MacRumors, and many other different reports from that publication’s message boards, many 9.7-inch iPad Pro owners that upgraded to iOS 9.3.2 are seeing their devices bricked and inaccessible, with an “Error 56” notification, the particular message is telling owners to plug their devices into iTunes to proceed.

Unfortunately, for the folks that are experiencing the issue and have plugged the iPad into their computer to launch iTunes, as instructed by the error message, the fix is not working:

“Mine is bricked. Says it needs to be plugged into iTunes, won’t restore or update, just a big loop. Fantastic. :/”
    reports one user.

Apple has a specific error document for Error 56, which states that this particular error message relates to a hardware issue. That document goes on to say that owners should update to the latest version of iOS, try to restore the device twice, and check for issues with third-party security software.

If that doesn’t work, Apple says to contact Apple Support.

Apple have lost the focus here, instead of releasing numerous betas to prevent the release of a jailbreak they should focus on making a stable OS

Update will have to take iPads to a Apple Retail Store or send in for repair

Well that sucks for those ipad owners. Is Apple going to do anything to compensate them?

Doubtful, Apple will take care of the customers but compensating from their time is not really going to happen
