  • Leaked iTunes 12.4 Screenshots Shows Redesigned Interface with Improved Navigation
Apple's software engineer, Eddy Cue promised us early in the year that Apple are working on a slight revamp of iTunes so that Apple Music is easier to use. The update was supposed to be a part of the OS X 10.11.4 update from Apple, but that never happened, as the update was seemingly delayed by Apple. MacRumors have shared some screenshots of iTunes 12.4 which shows a slight redesign of the interface.

The screenshots suggest that Apple will be including a new dropdown menu to switch between different kinds of media such as Music, TV Shows, Movies etc. The menu seems to be customisable to an extent where you can have a section hidden if you don't use that category.

On the left some improvements have been made to make it easier to jump to different sections of your library like Songs, Genres, Albums, Artists, and more. The mini player has also received a slightly design tweak that puts the Up Next song button at a more convenient location.

Apple will also be making menus “easier to use” with this update and will include new navigation options.

    - MacRumors

MacRumors suggests that Apple will release iTunes 12.4 sometime next week. It is likely that it will be released before WWDC.

Do you like the changes that Apple has made in iTunes 12.4?

iTunes is still a terrible and confusing piece of software. I wish they’d revamp the entire thing.

I still don't understand what's wrong with iTunes? Everyone says that but I don't know how it could be any simpler to manage your music with it. It's drag and drop. What am I missing?

Except it’s not just a music manger, it’s a whole entertainment suite software. And if you plan on doing anything at all besides playing your music you have to go through like 4 different menus to get there. It’s just overall badly designed.

I've always been fine with iTunes. More robust option than other manufacturers have to support a device.
