  • Apple CEO Tim Cook: 'We Want to Change the World Through Our Products'

Yesterday, Apple's CEO Tim Cook, spoke to CNBC's Mad Money host Jim Cramer for a two part interview which covers many topics. The second portion of the interview which was aired tonight, Tim Cook mentioned that Apple's recent feud with the FBI is what Apple stands for, and who he personally admires himself.

Tim Cook stated that Apple conducts business in a way that's "right and just." He stated that the company's environmental efforts, the use of renewable energy, focuses on human rights, employee shareholder plans and privacy concerns. "All of these things help us stand for something, and I think that's what people want." Cook said. Tim Cook said that he was also proud of the products that Apple makes which give customer satisfaction from giving a voice to the autistic child to providing tools for artists to giving grandparents a way to talk to their grandchildren with FaceTime, letting ModMyi users explore Forums on their iDevices and more. "All of these things excite me because they're bringing out the best in people," Cook stated.

Apple has always stood for building the best products on Earth that enrich people's lives. Whether it was Steve's Apple or -- I don't view it as my Apple today, I'm the CEO of it -- that is what we're about. And so we want to change the world through our products. We produce products that give people the ability to do things they couldn't do before.

The topic of discussion then went on to the dispute with the FBI, where the FBI ordered Apple to unlock the iPhone 5c of the terrorist, Syed Farook in the San Bernardino shooting case. Echoing past statements, Cook said the FBI's request, which asked for a new version of iOS that bypassed passcode restrictions, went too far and had the potential to put millions of people at risk. He said Apple had to stand up for what it believed in, even though it led to a fight with the government.

Apple's dominance window is closing, rapidly. I just read an article that postulated Elon Musk running Apple. Even Woz thinks out of the box more than Cook. Find another innovator; are you available, GeoHot?

The article suggested that Apple should buy Tesla and name Musk as CEO. I read that too. [emoji106]
