  • ‘iPhone 7’ Battery Leak, Shows a Slightly Larger Battery Than the iPhone 6s

Today, sources suggested that Apple's rumored "iPhone 7" and "iPhone 7 Plus/Pro" will feature a slightly larger battery than the "iPhone 6s" and "iPhone 6s Plus". What Apple plans on doing in the battery category is certainly one of many hot topics.

Images surface back in March 2016 that reportedly showcased the battery of the iPhone 7, which indicated that it will boast a 7.04 watt-hour battery. If we are to compare that to other handsets it is a slight boost up from the iPhone 6s.

This time, the rumor is sourced from Weibo. The website indicates that Apple plans on using a battery which is slightly larger than what is in the iPhone 6s. The poster of the sourced website, Weibo, states that the iPhone 7 Plus will measure in at 2810mAh which the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus measure in at 1715mAh and 2750mAh.

If we are to look back on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus we see that the iPhone 7/7Plus will have batteries that are lower than Apple's shift to bigger phones with have the iPhone 6 measured at 1810mAh and the iPhone 6 Plus measured at 2910mAh. However, an increase to the size of the battery isn't a clear indicator that Apple is going to make any major changes when it comes to battery life. It is likely that Apple's simply putting a bigger battery in to balance the upcoming A10 Processor that will power the iPhone 7. This may mean that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will have comparatively the same battery life as the iPhone 6s/6s Plus.

That’s if this rumor is true, of course.

The iPhone 7 is expected to feature slight changes to the physical design which shifts the antenna and may offer a slightly thinner frame thanks to the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack. Expect a dual-camera system also.

Will you be disappointed if Apple does release the iPhone 7/7 Plus without a bigger focus on battery life?

Well if we're all wanting better features and more powerful specs, it's no surprise that the batteries are going to be bigger, since the battery engineering route doesn't seem like it's being advanced.
