  • Apple Seeds First iOS 9.2.1 Beta to Public Beta Participants

On Thursday, one day after Apple seeded a first beta of iOS 9.2.1 to developers for testing alongside a new OS X 10.11.3 beta, Apple has given Public Beta Program participants full access to the new iOS 9.2.1 beta.

The new iOS 9.2.1 beta is a minor update to iPhones, iPod touches, and iPads that is believed to fix a problem related to applications not fully installing on some devices, as Apple notes can be a problem in iOS 9.2 in an online support document. There may also be other small subtle bug fixes or changes, but such are still unknown.

The iOS 9.2.1 beta 1 release for Public Beta Program participants is available via Settings > General > Software Update for those with devices registered under the Public Beta Program. There, the update can be installed OTA (Over the Air).

The incomplete or slow installation happen during iOS 9.1 just a week before the release of iOS 9.2.
