  • Apple Now Promoting iPhone 6s via App Store Popups on Earlier iPhones

If you use an earlier iPhone than the iPhone 6s, then don't be surprised if you see a pop-up message like the one above when you attempt to browse the App Store.

Apple appears to be promoting its new iPhone 6s/6s Plus as 'ridiculously powerful' in the App Store for those that are on earlier versions of the iPhone in an attempt to remind people that Apple has a new handset and that it's more powerful than any before it.

The pop-ups appear to have started after the release of iOS 9.2 earlier this week, although users on firmwares earlier than iOS 9.2 will still get the pop-up, for example, we received the pop-up on our jailbroken iPhone 5 running iOS 9.0.2 just yesterday.

Many people see the pop-up as a nuisance because the App Store isn't particularly related to purchasing a new iPhone, but Apple appears to be taking advantage of something that users use a lot as a channel of advertising.

Might be from Apple, but unwanted pop us are still unwanted pop ups.
