  • New Data Suggests 400 New Apps Land on Apple TV Weekly

Apple's latest app store offering -- the Apple TV App Store -- may not be growing as quickly as its other app storefronts, but it is definitely growing. And we've got stats to prove it.

According to the latest update from the Appfigures blog, some 400 new apps are gaining admittance to the Apple TV App Store weekly. And it's no big surprise to which category most of the apps belong. Wanna guess? (Answer below).

Following confirmation by Apple’s Eddy Cue, the numbers presented in the Appfigures blog were validated. Despite having launched just one month ago, the Apple TV App Store now plays home to 2,624 apps, all of which are currently available for download.

More than half of all apps landing in the Apple TV App Store every week are... games.

With games undeniably driving the app store's growth, the latest estimates indicate that the Apple TV App Store may feature as many as 10,000 apps by early 2016.

Eh.. not much interest in this device. Most TV's have built in Netflix these days. PS's and/or XBOX's have Netflix and other apps.

Games? Just buy a PS4 or XBOX ONE.
Music? Buy an iPod or iPhone.
Movies? Grab Netflix or a chromecast.

Yeah, nothing new or innovative here. Just an Apple equivalent offering of things we already have..just saying. If you are going to come late to the party, at least bring some new stuff.
