  • Golden Globe Nominations Kind to 'Steve Jobs'


    The 2016 Golden Globe nominations have been announced and the team behind "Steve Jobs" has much to celebrate in response to the names unveiled this morning.

    Although the eagerly awaited biopic about the late Apple co-founded floundered at the box office upon its opening in October, critics and industry veterans were exceedingly kind in their words and reviews of "Steve Jobs." In fact, there was ample Golden Globes and Oscar buzz well before the picture was even released.

    All told, three important nominations came to the film today.

    Michael Fassbender was nominated for Best Actor in a motion picture, drama for his performance as Steve Jobs in the film of the same name. Additionally, Kate Winslet earned a nomination for Best Actress in a supporting role in a motion picture. And lastly, the film's writer, veteran Hollywood scribe Aaron Sorkin, was nominated for best screenplay.

    "Steve Jobs" did not receive a best picture nomination, however, which is the granddaddy of them all at the Golden Globes ceremony.

    The 2016 Golden Globes ceremony is slated for January 10, 2015.
