  • Google Updates Chrome App for iOS With Support for 3D Touch & Keyboard Shortcuts

Google has updated its Chrome browser application for the iOS platform on Tuesday with some much-needed improvements. The latest version of the mobile Web browser, version 47.0.2526.70, is now available in the iOS App Store.

Among one of the biggest new features in the update is support for 3D Touch, which means that iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus users can now press firmly on their display on the Chrome application icon to reveal a menu with Quick Action shortcuts for opening a new tab, opening a new incognito tab, and launching voice search, as shown above.

The update also adds better support for Bluetooth keyboards by including new keyboard shortcut support, meaning you can take advantage of more options with the stroke of a keyboard key, just like you would on a computer. This includes opening new tabs and initiating voice search.

Those already using the Chrome app for iOS will find the update waiting for them under the Updates tab in the App Store application. Alternatively, you can download the latest version of Chrome for iOS from this App Store link.
