  • JCPenney Preparing to Accept Apple Pay

One of the biggest names in retail is gearing up to welcome Apple's mobile money payment system to its operations.

Clearly, Apple hasn't entirely left a bad taste in the company's mouth, even though former Apple retail chief Ron Johnson didn't necessarily achieve what was hoped upon his taking the helm at JCPenney.

Now, JCPenney is looking to capitalize on Apple Pay, the hottest platform in digital money today. According to 9to5Mac, JCP customers in the state of Texas "are being added to a pilot program that allows them to set up their store cards on their mobile devices for use in stores."

A full rollout is planned for next year.

"JCPenney is running a pilot program available to cardholders residing in Dallas Ft. Worth and shopping at The Village at Fairview store," the retailer says. "Cardholders nationwide will be able to add their JCPenney credit cards to their Wallets and pay using Apple Pay in spring 2016."
