  • Adele's Upcoming Album Won't Be Available on Apple Music On Launch Day

British singer and songwriter Adele’s long awaited album, ‘25’, is just hours away from being launched. However, those who listen to music via stream should not expect to hear it on their service tomorrow. It has been reported that ‘25’ won’t be made available on services like Spotify or Apple Music on Friday when the album launches.

The New York Times reported that the British singer was involved in the decision to not launch the new album in Apple Music and Spotify. Rumors were previously circulating that ‘25’ would possibly be on Apple Music but not Spotify because they have a free service that runs off ads. The other option was that the album would only be available for those who pay for Spotify, but it seems neither service will have the album.

This means that those who want to listen to the album will need to either purchase a physical copy or purchase it on iTunes/Google Play. It was also rumored that Apple Music approached Adele in wanting to make ‘25’ an exclusive album but apparently the singer rejected the idea.

We’re not sure how true this news is or how long the singer will keep her album off stream services. But we are assuming however, that the album may be on services like Apple Music at some point later just not immediately. What are your thoughts on this news? Share with us in the section below.

This is the wave of the future.. More and more artists will pull their stuff from streaming because they get paid so little. Spotify and Apple Music screw the artists with their per stream rates. Spotify more than Apple Music - but both are bad.

Let artist pull their music from streaming... it will only hurt them by limiting their stuff to the hard core followers. Stream it and you may get new followers. It's up to them, move forward with technology & the future, or stay behind with your head in the sand.

The issue has NOTHING at all to do with the technology... Artists LOVE the the technology.. but not the streaming companies that want to pay them pennies for this music. So no problem with the technology.. but not the $0.0045/per stream rate per song that the streaming companies want to pay the artists.. It's a joke.
