  • Images of Apple's Upcoming Apple Watch Charging Dock Surface on the Interwebz

Apple appears to be preparing to sell its own Apple Watch docking station, which would allow the Apple Watch to display sideways in night stand mode at night or completely flat depending on user preference, and charge when the user needs to give it some more juice after a long day of work.

These images, shared by German site Grobgebloggt.de show that the surface of the dock is soft and includes a foldable magnetic charging surface that the Apple Watch would attach to. Included is a two-meter long Lightning cable that can then be plugged into the back of the dock, as well as any USB receiver that can produce power, such as Apple's own USB to AC adapters.

It's reported that this dock will retail for $79, which is a pretty steep asking price for a charging dock considering that Apple's iPhone charging dock is $49 in its most expensive form. On the other hand, the Apple Watch charging dock includes more moving parts and a much more complicated design that may have added to the cost.

It's unknown when Apple will be releasing this accessory, although it should be compatible with all Apple Watches of all sizes, whether the Sport, Edition, or the basic Apple Watch.
